Inclusion, Wellbeing and Equalities Framework Education Scotland
The Inclusion, Wellbeing and Equalities Professional Learning Framework, hosted by Education Scotland, supports anyone working with children and young people in an educational context. It can also support those who work with adult learners, parents, carers, families and in community learning contexts.
This professional learning framework:
- simplifies the professional learning landscape for inclusion, wellbeing and equalities
- supports capacity building and a common understanding, language and skills for all educators
- provides up to date information which can be adapted to suit the local context
- support individual educators to plan their own professional learning
It is split into three levels, Essential for All, Informed level and Skilled Level and has powerpoints and notes that can be used for self-directed learning and to deliver training to colleagues. All of the professional learning in the Framework fits into one of four themes.
- rights and equalities
- relationships
- inclusion
- wellbeing and care
The four themes are interconnected and interdependent.
Covers inclusion, GIRFEC and the Scottish Education Context
The activities and resources in this level have been designed to support all educators’ knowledge and practice and is not intended to reflect someone’s seniority.
The Skilled level of the Inclusion Wellbeing and Equalities Professional learning framework provides more depth and detail. It aims to further extend educator’s understanding and skills and to enhance upper universal and some targeted approaches required for some children and young people.
