Ubuntu Scotland Celebrating Black Youth Work in Scotland

Postponed – date to be confirmed

Join United Voices, a YouthLink Scotland network, at our celebration of Black led Youth Work. Ubuntu means togetherness and represents the value of coming together for the benefit of all, which is the core purpose of the United Voices network. This event will showcase how youth work in Black and Minority Ethnic communities addresses isolation and loneliness, supports positive mental health, increases sports engagement, builds cultural knowledge and understanding and most importantly supports young people to achieve their full potential. There will be opportunities to connect with different groups, encourage partnership working across communities as when we work together with the shared aim of supporting young people in Scotland to thrive we build safer and more connected communities.

This will be packed session of performances, talks and networking opportunities. There will be information stalls run by members of the United Voices network, showcasing their work and who are open to conversations about future work and looking at how as a sector we can work together to create inclusive spaces for young people to thrive.

We would love to see you at this event and hope you will take away ideas and thoughts about how to engage and connect with different communities and build partnerships you maybe hadn’t considered before.
