Racial Inequality in Scotland: State of the Nation – Volume 1 collates a substantial number of evidence sources into one searchable document.

Its chapters are not designed to be read consecutively. Rather, this publication should provide a flexible reference guide for developing effective interventions, policies, services and campaigns to tackle structural racism in Scotland.

This publication can be used to inform:

  • Policy development at organisational, local and national levels
  • Service design
  • Legislative developments
  • Performance of the Scottish Specific Public Sector Equality Duties, in particular mainstreaming, equality outcomes and equality impact assessments
  • Community engagement
  • Anti-racism plans, both for employers and service providers
  • Anti-racist activism, campaigning and lobbying
