Tackling Hate Crime in the Workplace An Anti-Racism Perspective

Explore how embedding anti-racism can prevent and tackle hate crime in the workpace.

Online learning webiner – 10th March, 11 – 12:15pm

Delivered by the Race for Human Rights Team, with guest speaker Shaheen Baber, Hate Crime Policy Officer at Glasgow City Council

How can we better prevent hate crime and discriminatory behaviour in the workplace, especially when racial hate crime remains the most reported in Scotland?

In this learning session, we will explore ways to tackle hate crime through preventative measures and how integrating anti-racist practice at all levels can enable organisations to act with confidence.

Anti-racist practice doesn’t just aim to eliminate systemic racism. It commits to dismantling broader structural inequalities and enables us to develop the right tools for inclusion.

In this session, you will:

  • Understand how embedding anti-racism strategically can prevent discrimination and hate crime in the workplace.
  • Understand common organisational barriers and ways to foster an anti-racist workplace.
  • Hear from our guest speaker, Shaheen Baber (Hate Crime Policy Officer, Glasgow City Council), on how organisations should navigate the current social and political landscape and take preventative steps to protect staff in the workplace.

Who is this for?
